DESIGNATION OF NEW SECRETARY:   Margaret Gossett agreed to take minutes.

COMMISSION MEMBERS:   Cathy Harvey provided a list of all Commission members.

LAKES MAPPING: Cathy reported that mapping of Mountain Lake, Birchwood, Crystal and Wildwood Lake has been completed. Mapping of the other lakes should be completed soon assuming budget money is available.

SUSTAINABLE NEW JERSEY:   Jackie reported that Mountain Lakes has identified projects around town whereby we could earn 165 points.    Municipal energy audit should occur soon.   Need someone willing to apply for grants.

AQUIFER QUALITY MONITORING:  Refurbished drinking water well No. 3 has not been issued a permit by the NJDEP.  Margaret will determine status of permitting.  Margaret will work with Todd to get aquifer quality reports from NJDEP.

WELLHEAD PROTECTION:  Khizar will review municipal well head protection ordinance.

DEER MANAGEMENT: Cathy will send statewide deer management petition to commission members who will vote by email as to whether we wish to urge council to become a signatory.

BOROUGH COUNCIL LIASON:    Budget has not been approved at this point.

ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCES INVENTORY: Corey indicated we must submit NRI to Morris County by June to ensure we maintain our grant money.  The ERI content will be hosted free by Morris County’s GIS server for one year as a pilot program. The ERI will end up becoming a dynamic document where information can be updated easily a couple times a year.   The matching grant money could be lost if we do not deliver the NRI by June.  Some grant money has been spent on map overlays. Barry needs to provide information regarding the town infrastructure. Tom agreed to review flora and fauna section of the report. Cathy is going to invite Steve Rice from the County of Office Planning to show how the mapping will work.

Meeting adjourned at 8:50.
