2006 Issues
l Discussion of Website.
2005 Year End Report to be put on.
l Discussion of
aerator at Birchwood. Manager putting
in electric connection rather than more vulnerable solar panel.
l Discussion of goose egg addling.
l Discussion of Troy Brook Storm Water Management
meeting. Mountain Lakes already doing
most of the recommendations. For
example, we clean most of our 565 storm drains annually. Apparently some of the larger towns can not
get to theirs. We are looking at
impervious coverage. Discussion of
invertebrate life in the Mountain Lake dam/Fliflet park outflow. This outflow stream is created by releases
from the Mountain Lake dam, which range from zero cubic feet per second to
storm releases. This limits the number
of species of macroinvertebrates which can survive those conditions and the
number of individuals that could be present.
Crayfish could be present, depending on conditions. Link to crayfish information: http://iz.carnegiemnh.org/crayfish/country_pages/state_pages/newjersey.htm
l Allied
Biological has treatment permits in hand.
l Considering alum treatments next two weeks. Birchwood to be treated early while oxygen
levels are high. Link to information on
alum treatments: http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/org/water/fhp/papers/alum_brochure.pdf
l Discussions of Birchwood oxygen levels, Trout Derby, and
aerator. The Committee will be
reviewing the results of the aerator.
