Issues – April 2007

= Discussion of swan and goose populations on Mountain Lake and Sunset Lake. USDA will conduct a survey of geese in Mountain Lakes. Note that Canada Geese are grazers, leaving the water, feeding, and returning to the water. Mute Swans feed on water plants.

= Birchwood Lake is filling for the season. The concrete retaining wall is complete, though the stone facing will have to wait until September.

= There will be an algae treatment on Wildwood Lake.

= Allied Biological will be using chelated copper rather than copper sulfate in the future.

= Alum treatment planned for Birchwood.

= Minimal plant growth on Wildwood to this point.

= The aerator will be turned on in Birchwood this month.
