Chair
- December
minutes approved
- Discussion
of potential members to replace Reiner Mimberg. The Chair asked that Committee to suggest names before
the next meeting for the CouncilÕs review. The Committee also expressed
its admiration and appreciation for ReinerÕs service and accomplishments.
ManagerÕs Report
- Have
received 4 bids for Canal cleanup.
FEMA is entertaining the BoroughÕs application for funding
cleanup. .
- Discussion
of the spillway at Wildwood.
Boards in place now were contributing to leaks. Potentially finish the project
before Summer. Still
discussing the practicality of a valve such as is in the Mountain Lake
spillway.
- All
dam inspections were completed in 2012. Other than Sunset, all issues are minor. The issue with Sunset would be
with overtopping in the event of a thousand year storm. This is not a safety issue
primarily and will be a capital project for 2014. The Manager expressed his
appreciation for the performance of our new dam engineering firm.
- The
Borough has committed to a contract with Allied Biological for the coming
year.
- Question
on what the Borough may be receiving from FEMA for storm cleanup.
- Discussion
of beavers in Birchwood. The
Borough has engaged 3 trappers.
No further update at this time.
Allied Biological
- Has
filed for all permits.
- Question
about lilies on Sunset Lake.
Yes, in plan. And
Birchwood a different plan involving only pushing back the existing
stands.
- Question
about structure of contract with Allied. Similar to the past. Continued monitoring included.
New Business
The Manager asked that the Committee provide its thoughts
and historic data on the recreational use of the canoe.
