In Attendance:

Commissioners—H. Carr, J. Best, S. Marshall, B. Rosenthall, A. Barton, L. Spencer-Green and = T. Caine

1.There were no comments from the public.

 

2. February minutes were approved.

 

3. Bonnie met with Sean Dolan and she reports that plans for Arbor Day are mov= ing forward nicely. The poster contest, 1st grade poems, a possible nature club skit and WW band music are all in the works.

Free tublings will come from NJ Forest Service. Planting information will be pos= ted on the web site.

Bonnie will talk with Mr. Reid about his dedication of a memorial tree for his mot= her at the start of the Arbor Day ceremony. STC will look into a planting site = at Wildwood School.

 

4. Tree removal request at 48 Ball Road was discussed. STC approves removal of= the Mulberry tree in position #1 and no replacement will be required. Joan will handle phone and letter notification.

 

5.Tom will post The Honorary Tree Protocol on the web site. A list of honorees and the dates their trees were planted will also go up on the site. Tom will up= date this list annually. Heather will field questions about the location and sta= tus of specific trees.

 

6. Ann will call to remind owners to remove a plaque at the base of an honorary tree.

 

7. Joan met with the town attorney about the Birchwood area accident.

 

8. Other/ New Business:

 A. STC membership information has = been corrected on the website.

 

    B. Sue looked into the files that track tree protection plans and requests to remove trees. She reported the statistics from 2006. Discussion concluded with the formation = of a subcommittee composed of Joan, Sue and Heather. They will study revision of permit application forms so that complete and consistent information is documented and they will look at permit fees, possibly proposing a fee/tree structure.

 

     C. Linda found = Tree City USA grant info on their website but they have not returned her phone calls. She will continue to follow up.

 

     D. FAQ list is = in progress.

 

9. Tom is scheduled to attend the upcoming CORE training.

 

       The next meeting will be h= eld on Thursday April 12, 2007.
