1.There
were no comments from the public.
2.April
minutes were approved.
3.
Arbor Day festivities went very well in spite of the rain. Ann spoke
beautifully and JoanÕs tree looks great. Photos of the day were shared and
Bonnie will select some for posting on the web site. Next year STC will try=
to
recruit photos of trees from past Arbor Days with the children who planted
them. Wildwood studentsÕ poems written for this year will be added the web
site.
4.
33-35 new trees will be planted this fall. Joan has a list of planting sites
that homeowners have requested. Ann, Joan and Heather will look for other n=
ew
sites and survey the health of last yearÕs plantings. Heather will be the
contact person for Tony Cerbo.
5.
Ann and Linda will be leaving STC after the summer inventory :-(
2 new members are needed.
6.A
donation was made to have 4 honorary trees planted at MLHS. They are to
recognize Mrs. Pfau, Mr. Wallace, Mr. Downes and Mr. Bergen. Heather will
create the certificates and the student donor will deliver them.
7.
The budget was discussed. Money has been spent for dues and subscriptions, =
Core
training, and consulting by John Linson. P&R recommendations were over
budget last year so Council chose which areas were of highest priority to
address. P&R is continuing.
8.
Past Meeting Issues
A. Mountain Lakes Day will =
be
held this year but STC will not participate.
B. Honorary trees will be l=
isted
on the web site by year with the honorees name and type of tree. The specif=
ic
planting sites can be obtained by calling the STC.
C. Shade Tree Federation
membership cards were distributed.
D. STC meetings will contin=
ue to
be listed in the H&SA Bulletin; Bonnie will be contact.
E. AnnÕs new article for the
H&SA was discussed; itÕs ready to be published.
Topics for future art=
icles
include an explanation of honorary and memorial trees, and a list of
recommended tree species to plant.
F. Joan, Sue and Heather are
revising the application form for the removal of trees in the setback area.=
The
goal is to gather information with check-offs and minimize the descriptive =
writing
required to complete the form. They will also write a memo to Gary recommen=
ding
a new fee schedule and the reasoning behind the change. Gary will present i=
t to
council.
G. Everyone is working on their a=
nswers
to the FAQ list. The goal is=
to
have them finished in December.
The
next meeting will be held on Thursday June 14, 2007.
