Minutes of Meeting
April 10, 2008

1.
There were no comments from the public.
2.
March minutes were approved.
3.
Bonnie gave an update about Arbor Day. This yearŐs theme is: Mountain Lakes, A
Treeific Place to Live. Seedlings
will be given to each kindergartener, first grader and second grader. There
will be a table set-up to offer seedlings to students in the upper grades who
would like to plant one. The
remaining seedlings will be planted by STC. The honorary tree for Gary Webb will be planted at Island
Beach. The Arbor Day proclamation
will be given to Council on Monday for resolution.
4.
The wording for GaryŐs certificate was discussed and finalized. Heather will
make the certificate.
5.
Heather explained the status of the budget.
6.
NJ Shade Tree Federation Membership cards were received and distributed. 2 are
missing and they will be requested. The cards are useful ID during the summer
survey process.
7. White ribbons on trees and telephone
poles were discussed. In keeping with the existing ordinances, the STC suggests
all adornments, permanent or temporary, be kept off street trees.
8. STC received a letter from a
homeowner about JCP&L tree trimming on Morris Ave. Joan talked with Lewis
tree service, who did the trimming, and they promised to talk with the
homeowner.
9.
Old Business
The hazardous tree at Midvale
Playground has been removed.
Modification of the Setback
Management Form is complete.
A Memorial Tree for the Island
Beach area is being donated.
A resident would like to donate a
tree for the Wildwood Dam area. STC will look to see if this is possible.
The tree at 348 Morris was
removed by Greenwood after a large cavity was
discovered 25 ft high.
Sue and Joan will work on the
final edits of the FAQ list.
10.
New Business
Takedowns are nearly complete
and need to be verified. Laura,
Marnie and Bonnie will do this within a week.
The
next meeting will be held on Thursday May 8, 2008 at 8:30 AM.
