TRAFFIC AND SAFETY MEETING MINUTES

Meeting called to order at 5:40 pm

September meeting minutes accepted

 

Dan Haper is the new council liaison to the Traffic and Safety Committee.

 

Web site status: Jim received directions for updating the website.  If any committee member would like to volunteer to update the website-please contact Jim.

 

Lake Drive street parking:

Cars are not to park past tennis courts of the MLC where the street narrows.

Other areas to consider for parking-island beach, St. CatherineÕs Church parking lot and Community Church parking lot.  Also, consider Martins Lane Extension for staff who work part time or school visitors

 

Trish Filiaci will discuss with the other principal and follow up with Chief Tovo and Dr. Kazmark.

 

Managers Report-did not get grant for sidewalk on Kenilworth this year.

 

ChiefÕs Report-Parking spots on Kenilworth by the school will be removed during the break-weather permitting.  They will also remove the crosswalk after fence at Wildwood on Kenilworth. The walkway on Kenilworth will also be restriped  from Beechway to Powerville Rd.  On the agenda are the crosswalks crossing Powerville at Kenilworth, Melrose and Hanover roads.  Speed bumps are still a consideration.

Chief Tovo to speak with Joe Tempesta to see if the sidewalk from Wilcox to Morris Ave is in the budget for this year.

 

Jim asked committee members to think of ways our committee can promote being ÒgreenÓ

 

New Business:

Jim asked committee members if they would like to continue through 2009 and if we know of any community members interested in joining.  Phillip Rosenthall has resigned from the committee.
