This small spring, back in the woods, has significant flow in the springtime so that the water seems to boil and percolate. It's an interesting spot but it has no known significant history or anecdotes associated with it.
Start at the Tourne parking lot by the ballfield. Turn left out of the parking lot and go several hundred feet to the beginning of the Birchwood Lake Trail, which bears off to the left marked by white blazes. Follow this trail approximately 0.4 mile to a major intersection with trails going left and right. Turn right and follow that trail. After about 0.2 mile, you come to an intersection with a red-blazed trail. Go left to stay on it. Continue on about 0.1 mile to a small narrow trail going off downhill to the left. Follow this down to boiling spring. You'll see the spring surrounded by rocks with a wooden bench. Sit down and enjoy the quiet and peace of the spot.
