Elephant Rock

Elephant Rock is a gigantic boulder tucked back in the woods.  Over 12 feet high and 25 feet long it sits by itself, dominating its surroundings.  It is relatively unknown to adults but popular with kids who love to climb on it.  It is probably better that the parents don't know.

How to get there

Travel north on the Boulevard.  About a quarter mile before the pillars which mark the end of Mountain Lakes, bear left onto Elcock Ave and then take an immediate left onto Rock Lane.  Go to the end and park on the left.  Follow the trail into the woods about 100 yd.  to Elephant Rock.

Please preserve these irreplaceable pieces of Mountain Lakes history for future generations.  There are no police or security guards here.  It's up to you!

Take only pictures.  Leave only footprints.
