Informal Remarks

As a child, my family lived at 95 Hanover Road, acquiring the house from the original owners (1963). I went to Wildwood and Lake Drive schools, and my family attended St. Peter's Church. After living in Mtn. Lakes for six years, we moved to Boulder, Colorado.

My family's name was (is) Sichel, we moved from Chicago in '63, I believe. My father was with Hoffman LaRoche and was transferred to NJ. The house had only been lived in by the original owners, and the last family member was a woman who had grown too old to live by herself - unfortunately I don't know their names. I don't know if the house was haunted or not, but it always had this rather pleasant, mysterious quality, many others noticed it as well.

Spoke to my mother and she said they had paid $27,000 for it. My family moved to Colorado, my father opened a drugstore in Boulder, sold it several years later. I do marketing communications and documentary video on the side, living in Iowa but plotting an escape.

Best,
Pamela Sichel

My early impressions and memories of living in a Hapgood house provoked my interest in architectural history, leading me to a degree in art history and fine art. Seeing the marvelous old pictures on the website brought back vivid recollections.
