Experience the luxurious décor, vintage vignettes and homey touches that lie behind the doors of the magnificent mansions and quaint cozy homes of Mountain Lakes on The Town Club of Mountain Lakes’ Holiday House Tour on December 1, 5-9 pm. The Tour, sponsored by Caggiano Orthodontics, Bednar Landscape Services and The Mountain Lakes Club, ushers you through thoughtfully selected homes bedecked in holiday splendor, showcasing the unmistakable attention to detail and architectural character of Mountain Lakes.
Tickets are limited and sell out every year, so order yours today by visiting www.TownClubML.org, the Mountain Lakes Library or, on the day of the event, St. John’s Masonic Lodge on Boulevard.
The tour starts at the mysterious St. John’s Masonic Lodge No. 1, chartered through the Free and Accepted Masons of Grand Lodge of NJ. Few non-members have ventured beyond the threshold — until now. The Masonic Lodge and its brotherhood of Freemasons are a community treasure, hidden in plain sight on one of the most beautiful lakefront properties in Mountain Lakes. Free Masons will escort participants through the newly renovated historic site while revealing the history and true nature of this organization and the fabulous gift they have given to Mountain Lakes.
Tour participants then make their own way to the homes where hostesses in each room will share interesting facts about architecture, collectibles and features that make each room significant. Holiday music by Allegro Senior Strings, a 10-piece advanced strings ensemble, will create a festive ambiance in the spacious great room of one of the homes that seems to have been designed for merrymaking with live entertainment.
This year’s stunning homes range from a breathtaking, multi-million dollar mansion that took four years to build due to the extensive fine finishes and exquisite details, to a nearly century old lakefront home with distinctive craftsmanship and a turret that provides a magnificent backdrop for the homeowners’ fabulous collections gathered from the far corners of the world. The fabulous homes offer details usually seen only in high end magazines — such as such as carved lions flanking the library mantle, intricate moldings, music rooms, butlers pantries, guest cottages, master suites with dressing rooms and wet bars, saunas and more!
Afterward, participants are invited to the Mountain Lakes Club 18 Lake Drive, for a post tour reception to enjoy the beautiful lakeside venue as well as complimentary hors d’oeuvres and cash bar.
The Holiday House Tour is a beloved holiday tradition and the Town Club’s largest fundraiser, contributing to more than $20,000 in Grants that are awarded to service and education organizations throughout Morris County.
