Kingston Ho, 15, of New Providence, is a 10th grader at the Academy for Allied Health Sciences in Scotch Plains, New Jersey. Currently he studies violin with Duoming Ba. Kingston is a 2017 National YoungArts Winner in the Classical Music/Strings/Violin category. He has been selected to be a member of the 2017 National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America sponsored by the Carnegie Hall Weill Institute and will perform in Carnegie Hall and several Latin American countries this summer. Kingston was the concertmaster of the New Jersey All-State Orchestra from 2014-2016. He was also the concertmaster of the full scholarship summer orchestra NYO2 sponsored by the Carnegie Hall Weill Institute in 2016. Kingston won first prize in the 2017 Suburban Music Study Club Scholarship Competition, the 2016 National League of Performing Arts Young Virtuosi Recital Competition, the 2016 National League of Performing Arts Chamber and Ensemble Competition, the 2015 New Jersey Music Teacher Association Young Musician Competition in Strings and the New Jersey Monmouth Symphony Orchestra 2012 Young Artist Concerto Competition and soloed with the orchestra. Kingston was also a prize winner in the New Jersey American String Teacher Solo Competition in 2008, 2009 and 2012, and the Goldblatt Scholarship String Competition in 2009 and 2013 and was selected to perform in the 2015 Crescent Concert for Exceptional Young Artists. For the past ten summers, Kingston has given solo recitals, performed chamber music and participated in orchestra in various music festivals in Italy, Spain and New York. He has also soloed at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, New Jersey Performing Arts Center, and the Rose Theater at Lincoln Center. Kingston is currently the concertmaster of the most advanced ensemble of the InterSchool Orchestras of New York, a full scholarship youth orchestra. Besides violin, Kingston also studies piano with Beatrice Long.

Refreshments will be served after the recital. MacDowell Club concerts are always free, but donations and memberships are appreciated. Parking is across the street.
