We may not have palm trees in Mountain Lakes, but you can still get in a tropical groove at the Town Club of Mountain Lakes Cove Tiki Jam fundraiser on Saturday, May 20th. All area residents and friends are welcome at the annual Jam featuring island-inspired cuisine and beverages, served up by the professional catering team from The Denville Meat Market. Amid the warm glow of tiki torches, the lively music of New York’s Eamonn Ryan Band, returning from last year, will temporarily transport you to a tropical paradise where you can limbo, hula or just move where the music takes you.
“The Town Club annual Jam is THE party event that officially kicks off the outdoor summer season and wraps up our year of fundraising in style,” stated Maria Paabøl Larsen, Cove Tiki Jam chair. “Whether we are jammin’ lakeside, garage band style, or tropical tiki, you always know it’s going to be a memorable night and help out many worthy causes.”
Area businesses and Town Club members have contributed fabulous silent auction items that are certain to start bidding battles that will ultimately benefit dozens of area charitable, community service and education organizations. Auction items include: Foursome of golf and lunch, designer jewelry, a weekend driving a sporty new vehicle, Rangers tickets on ice and more.
Get your tickets early as the Jam has sold out in past years. Tickets at $75 per person are available online at http://townclubml.org/event/spring-jam-party/.
The Jam is one of three major events for the Town Club that generate approximately $25,000 in grant support annually to organizations that in the past have included: Mountain Lakes Schools and Public Library, the ML and Boonton first responders, Family Promise of Morris County, Lake Drive Foundation Sound Start Babies, Lakeland Hills YMCA, Jersey Battered Women’s Services, youth sports clubs and many more.
