Mayor Jackson explained the Council’s policy of limiting each speaker to 5 minutes and no yielding of time to another person.

Mayor Jackson opened the public comment portion of the meeting with consent of Council.

Angelo George – West Shore Rd

Mr. George complained about the increase in realtor signs being placed on homes for sell in the Borough. He suggested the Council consider adopting an ordinance prohibiting the signs or placing a question on the ballot and letting the voters of Mountain Lakes decide.

With no one else wishing to be heard, Mayor Jackson closed the public comment portion of the meeting

Mayor Jackson explained that an informal agreement had existed among the local realtors  and the Borough regarding the signs. However, the Borough can not prohibit homeowners from placing temporary signs on their property as long as they are not on the Borough’s right-of-way and comply with our sign ordinance.
