Issues November 2006

● Lakes walk scheduled 11/18 9:30 at Birchwood. Annual tour and review of lakes. Chair will include Woods and Environmental Committee contacts. Discussion of sites to visit.

● Environmental Commission has asked that Lakes review riparian buffers in 2007.

● Reviewed cleaning project of 2006. 508 cubic yards at an average cost of $37.74 per yard, cleaning Cove, Shadow, and Olive.

● Discussed process, probing and other data, for deciding 2007 cleaning.

● Work has begun on Birchwood retaining wall.

● Discussion of Birchwood water levels, general condition, and DPW priorities.

● Discussion of lake level management, seasonal timing of drawdown and recharge, and Birchwood construction.

● Discussion of goose management on Mountain Lake.
