Minutes of Meeting

June 12, 2008

In Attendance:

Commissioners: H. Carr, T. Caine, J. Best, B. Rosenthall, L. Connor, M. Vyff

S. Marshall.

1. There were no comments from the public.

2. The May minutes were accepted with corrections.

3. Prune and Remove survey forms were distributed. Joan also gave us inventory notes showing tree species by location, which she asked us to cross reference. How to use the inventory document to communicate pruning and removal needs was discussed.

4. Heather thanked Marnie for getting recent minutes posted on our web page.

5. Ann Blanda and Linda Cadigan plan to donate a tree in memory of Ann Barton’s mother. Ann Barton has asked that we choose the species and wants us to plant it either at Island Beach or the Midvale Dock area.

6. There are a few trees planted last fall that are of concern. The first is a tree planted at the high school near the construction sign. Joan stated that that tree was planted by the board of Education and is not our concern. Heather will monitor the tree planted in front of 338 Morris and one of the honorary trees at the high school along Powerville Road. She will contact Tony Cerbo in the fall if necessary.

7. Out of date information was discovered on the STC page of the website. The policy page needs to be replaced with the current one and Marnie and Laura’s e-mail addresses need to be added. The 2008 Arbor Day photos need to be posted as well.

8. The policy concerning the attachment of private memorial items on public property (trees) was revised and approved by Council. It will be posted on the website.

The next meeting will be September 11, 2008 at 8:30am.
