Beginner Violin Demonstration Class with the Lakeland Youth Symphony @ Mountain Lakes High School
Sep 10 @ 11:45 am

Come join us for a hands-on demonstration of our beginner violin class for children ages 5 – 9. Not only will our demo class have fun music games and a mini-concert, it will also give your child an opportunity to try playing a violin. This is a great way to introduce your child to music at a young age while helping them begin a life-long journey in playing the violin. In case you didn’t know, the Lakeland Youth Symphony has provided musical education and performance opportunities for young musicians in the Mountain Lakes area for 60 years! Today, it offers violin lessons for beginners (ages 5-9) and four progressively challenging levels of orchestras for all string students. The Lakeland Youth Symphony is a not-for-profit organization and meets at the high school. For more information or to register your child for the demonstration class or for a group this fall, please email info@lakelandyouthsymphony.org or call (973) 402-6010.

8th Annual Team Zoey Fashion Show @ Mountain Lakes High School
Mar 19 @ 6:00 pm
8th Annual Team Zoey Fashion Show @ Mountain Lakes High School | Mountain Lakes | New Jersey | United States

On March 19th, Mountain Lakes High School will be hosting its 8th Annual Fashion Show to benefit Team Zoey and the Progeria Research Foundation. Team Zoey is named after Zoey Aster Penny, a 7-year-old girl from Verona, New Jersey. Zoey battles a fatal condition called Progeria, which prematurely ages kids many times faster than normal affecting approximately 1 in 20 million newborns. Children living with Progeria display characteristics such as growth failure, hair loss, aged skin and, in more extreme cases, strokes and cardiovascular disease.
Tickets for the fashion show, which is organized by the students, are available at the door for $10. Baskets and refreshments are also available to benefit Team Zoey and The Progeria Research Foundation.
Team Zoey, a Chapter of the Progeria Research Foundation, was started by the Penny Family to help find treatments and a cure for Progeria.
