Mountain Lakes resident Mark Di Ionno will be speaking to the Lakers 55+ on Friday, March 15th at 12:45 p.m. at the Mountain Lakes Library.
Mark will be speaking about his new novel, Gods of Wood & Stone, described as “the next Great American Novel about the Great American Pastime—The Natural with echoes of Ford, Updike, DeLillo and Roth.”
The book is about two men from disparate worlds and their search for what constitutes a meaningful life and has been called “a searing portrait of honor and masculinity, sport and celebrity, marriage and parenthood …framed by the lens of baseball, this novel is a timeless, but strikingly singular tale of the responsibilities of manhood and the pitfalls of glory in a painful and exhilarating story that’s distinctly American.”
Mark is a Pulitzer Prize finalist in news commentary, six-time winner of the New Jersey Press Association award for best column writing and author of five acclaimed books, including “Gods of Wood & Stone.” To subscribe to his free newsletter or arrange for free book club visits or community talks, go to www.markdiionno.com)
