The Town Club of Mountain Lakes invites it’s members and the community to a special Valentine’s Day Luncheon and Program highlighting the work of one the groups 2015 Grant Recipients. Helen Le Frois, Director of Development from Jersey Battered Women’s shelter will share the history and range of services provided by the organization. Founded in 1979, JBWS is the only agency of its kind in Morris County. In addition to the luncheon and speaker, attendees will assemble Valentine Gift Bags of pampering products for the women in JBWS shelters. The Town Club is collecting and purchasing luxurious soaps, creams, spa type products and other thoughtful gift items for surprise gift bags for the women and hope it will brighten their day. The cost for the quiche and salad luncheon is $20 per person at the scenic Mountain Lakes Club. Reservations required and can be made at www.townclubml.org. Performers Ellen Fisher-Deerberg, flute; Kevin Willois, flute; and Ryan Brechmacher, piano, will delight us with their musical confections. The Community Church of Mountain Lakes announces a new gift to the wider community, a gift to refresh and renew. Community Jazz Vespers is beginning on Sunday, 28 February at 5 pm. Community Jazz Vespers will be a relaxed time of reflection and music based in traditional Christian worship but with a bit of improv, suited to our time and to the jazz theme. This monthly musical experience will feature Moments Notice, a professional jazz ensemble from Princeton, NJ. It will be held on fourth Sundays of the month with the exception of Easter Sunday. Community Jazz Vespers welcomes people of all faith traditions as well as those who consider themselves spiritual but not religious or who are just not sure. The idiom of jazz welcomes multiple and individual expressions of faith, of seeking and of questioning.
